That parent couldn’t tell you what an acronym is.

Reminds of a teaching experience I had 15 years ago or so.
Kid through a book at me and cussed me out.
The behavior meeting with his parents, IEP teacher, and admin concluded with "It was a manifestation of his disability."
No punishment!

During an interview following the shooting, the boy's mother, Deja Taylor, said he had a "disability."
First time I watched the video, I knew that would become a talking point. You could hear the officers and school personnel discussing his “modified schedule.”
Aka the kid is likely sped with a behavior plan because he has a history of poor behavior.

The mom and Lyndon Baines Johnson are to blame….

The crazy part is that the kid was so bad that the parents were being forced by the school to also be in attendance at school with the child. This was apparently the first day without his parents attending class with him. He should never have been allowed to attend school.

shite is wild. I can’t imagine why a school would keep giving chances to a kid who is so bad that his fricking parents have to attend school as well. That is so unfair to the other kids in that class.
Zero accountability though. That much is obvious, and expected. If my son (who is the same age) spoke to anybody like that he would get his arse kicked swiftly and authoritatively.
And ADHD? She should’ve at least said Tourette’s to maybe cover his language.

Good thing the bystander didn't help the person or persons in the wreck. They might have gotten bit by a person, and EMT's would have wanted to put the person down.
No one has any common sense anymore. Especially animal control and law enforcement

They give so many chances because they have too. SPED students can literally get away with anything and nothing can be done.

I know that stuff exists. My point is at what point do you remove a kid from the class? If you’re the school it seems like at some point, by law, you’d have to take the education (and safety) of the rest of the kids into consideration.

Offended by everything, ashamed of nothing, accountable for nothing.

I used to be a high school SPED inclusion teacher and dear lord, the stories I could give you. Basically, this all roots back to federal education law and another form of working the system. Many of the school administrators want to kick these kids out but they can't due to no child left behind and least restrictive environment.
In the smallest nutshell possible, everytime these kids are held accountable, the parent advocates and lawyers come around and the lawsuits come with them. Schools and districts are so afraid of getting sued now that they basically just roll over in many cases.

I had a kid punch me in the face twice before trying to grab the SRO's gun. I pinned him down and he said he wanted to "get the gun to fricking blow our fricking heads off and then kill his motherfricking self." This whole blow up happened because he was told to do his classwork instead of drawing pictures and doodling.
He was classified as oppositionally defiant and thus his behavior, gun included, was "related to his exceptionality" and a week later they asked if I'd be comfortable with him back in my class.
I wish I was kidding.

Kid had free tuition from pre-k unitl he was asked(told) to leave one on NOLAs top private schools during 9th grade. Now he is in another private school that specializes in kids like him and he is still a problem and getting worse as he gets older.
I have heard some wild stories about the mom, grandma and kid - pop has not been in his life since he was 2.......
Likely going to be looking at another school soon.... If the private system can't help a kid good grief charlie brown...
I have friends who have had and do have kids in his grade - so I get feedback... This is family I have not associated with for over 2 decades but several family members and myself pretty much called this when the kid was an infant...
shitty parenting is not limited to poor kids.....

They absolutely know how to work the system but because of federal law, there ain't much you can do. Dontcha just love when the feds stick their noses in things? They always make them sooooo much better.
