Was it legally purchased? Did he pass the NCIS background check?

He has a CCP so I assume yes. JPSO said he only had a minor criminal history. Some traffic stuff and one incident of criminal mischief or damage or something.

Kudos to JPSO for releasing this footage less than 48 hours after the event. All other agencies in the nation should follow this lead to deter future senseless riots and destruction.

The video I saw was disgusting with how he walked out and back in the building and shot the lady point blank. Seems like she was unarmed and kind of oblivious to what was going on.

Even the press release said he came in and out several times. Maybe he got shot in the end in the parking lot, but he had already set everything in motion by that point

The video I saw cuts off just before she is hit (no complaints here) but did it not seem like she was rushing towards the aisles?

Just bizarre set of events because the video is so chopped

And was allowed to legally own a gun. That's the problem right there.

I have a history of depression and anxiety, should I not be able to own a gun?

What people don’t understand when they say “people with mental issues shouldn’t own firearms” is that by saying those things, you’re simply ensuring that people with mental issues either 1) don’t seek out help for their mental issues out of fear of losing their rights 2) they simply lie and omit how they feel when being “screened”

All you’re doing is adding to the stigma of mental health and seeking help for mental issues instead of making it more accessible.
*not you in particular, but those who pull the “mental health screenings” card

I got 2 or 3 news alerts right when it happened and the rumor was that it was an old white guy. Haven't gotten any alerts about it since.

Looks like she already deleted her post.

Her sister deleted it. Auntie said he was a victim on many social ills that plague too many young black men who were born and raised in poverty in one of the wealthiest nations in the world. HE was the victim due to his raising's.

The sheriff's video ends abruptly when the glass door behind him gets shot out. He's still facing into the store and shooting at that point. Guessing that's when he first got hit.

He's not a victim, he's a criminal who deserved to die after shooting those innocent people point blank. Just another thug off the streets, win/win.

This is the slippery slope.

What will happen is men will forego telling any symptoms that might result in them being labeled depressed or anxious, because red flag laws will become the most misused laws in existence.

I just find it ridiculous that there are people out there who believe I don't deserve the right to defend myself because I have depression. My life somehow has less meaning to that person because I have to fight my own mental demons, even if I have not shown a single ounce of violence or hostility.

I can make a case for restricting gun sales to people who have diagnosed emotional instability

Many of the mass shootings in this country involve people who were either on or got off of ssri uptake inhibitors.
