Just north of $50k
Big believer in...
if you can afford the note, then you can afford to invest the note.
We keep vehicles ~12 years and, depending on financing attractiveness, we may finance for 5 years and then invest the note for 7 years.
Buy new again year 12 ish
Build cash to pay cash over time for next vehicle or have option to buy something else or leave to build for a nice retirement or whatever
Will likely splurge on next one once prices normalize, as we are year 13 on one of vehicles.

$23k back in 2022 on a Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4x4 that I bought new. Still have it but probably won't ever buy new again.

80k Mercedes GLE 450. Awesome vehicle. Fun to drive. Drove a Z71 Avalanche for 12 years. Was going to replace with a Z71 pickup. But after pricing one I said frick that, I can get a tricked out luxury SUV for the same price and I honestly don’t need a truck.

This is the new normal. The prices will not normalize downward.

$26K on my vehicle. Got cheap financing when I purchased it in 2018 so will pay it off in a few months. Will drive for another three years at least.
My problem is I have a 16 year old son that I need to buy something for soon. He wants a truck, but I'm not going to pay the crazy prices we've seen for a long time. I'm also not going to buy a 10 year old piece of crap with 150,000 miles on it.

That car was so sweet. Faux wood paneling, turbo, drop top...

~$112k on a 1987 Porsche 911 Turbo. Never regretted it.
Did regret the ~$50k I spent the same year on a Range Rover.

Probably our currents cars.
About $38,000 for my wife's 2020 Outback. Bought new.
About $36,000 for my 2022 Accord Hybrid. Bought new. My first ever brand new car.
I just traded in my 2014 Fusion hybrid because the 2nd transmission was failing. 134,000 miles. Wanted to drive that car another few years. Liked not having s 2nd car payment.
Never buying another Ford.

Not too much as I always buy Japanese and I mean I try to get the models 100% made in Japanese factories. Then, I have them for substantial periods of time with few (if any) maintenance costs and resell them for 50%+ of the purchase price and then buy more.
