What do you look like driving in a 17 year old civic with one spare wheel that you paid $6k for 7 years ago?

I've already got it sold, waiting on a duplicate title back from DNV.

The great thing is they let us finance it for 108 months.

Needing to finance a car worth 175K is irresponsible financial management. This is one of those rare circumstances I actually do believe a “you can’t afford it if you can’t pay cash” situations.

$62,000 on a 2021 Ram Limited Longhorn. I rolled $20k of equity into it and my company pays me $575 per month for vehicle allowance so I don't feel too bad

$38K on the wife's Honda Pilot. More bells and whistles than are necessary on a vehicle.

105k OTD

I was a new money millionaire with the ex and had s lot of equity on a trade. That with 25k in cash meant I financed the rest at a decent rate.

It was completely stupid.

Having said that. I loved the car. Ls460L AWD. Realized that while I could justify it making 200k a year, I couldn't justify it making 30k a year with a wife making 40.

Lifestyle changes meant it went away.

I still look at them used once or twice a month even thought that was probably 8 years ago and I could afford new.

ETA: I have not spent above 11k since then

did you give them a 20K tip? msrp on a 2017, which is considerably later model than your 8 years ago, was 82k

There are more people that can afford $2,000/month car note then can fork out $175,000 for a car.

Worse. I think msrp was in the mid 70s.

The car had upgrades.

More sound deadener throughout. 4 buckets. The list goes on.

Unless otherwise specified, I’m assuming most people in here didn’t pay cash up front for their (in some cases outrageous) vehicle purchases.

I’ve never had a car note, but I’ve also never driven anything super nice. However, I’m about to be in a situation where I need to buy a car and the used market is retarded right now. Considering buying something new and just living with a small note, but I’m not at all familiar with car loans, as I’ve always paid cash.
