Seriously, in order for me to drive a van, the floor has to be lowered, ramp installed and a device called EZ lock which my chair locks into and makes it just as or more secure than a regular car seat which cost almost $60k,
Chicken, I submit a request for our next GoFundMe - OweO's Bentley Bentayga.

I frickin live the OT. You can brag about how rich you are while simultaneously telling us that you won’t get suckered into a $40K+ vehicle.
Never change.
The OT spends $500/month on booze and $250/month on onlyfans subscriptions while preaching financial discipline.

What do you look like driving in a 17 year old civic with one spare wheel that you paid $6k for 7 years ago?

I don't look at vehicles as investments (at least from a traditional monetary sense). My most expensive vehicle is a fast convertible, which I wanted. It was investment in my happiness, but I have no pretense of it being a wise financial investment.
Agree, not everything in life can or should be evaluated strictly in terms of ROI. Just bought another Lexus for my wife, $50k, which is the most I’ve ever paid for a vehicle. She loves it, I love it, worth every dollar. Conversely I own a piece of investment property that has made a few bucks, but has been such a pain in the butt I question if it was worth it.

51k on a 2500 LTZ duramax truck in 2015. I can sell it right now with 125k miles for 38000ish.
No regrats.

30+k
Although, that was 2010-ish. I haven't had a car note in forever. I bought two used cars since 2016, paying cash each time. I want to buy a new car at some point, but I also don't want a car note. Dilemma!

Can’t imagine buying that unless I had a stable $2M+ salary.

$45k, yes cash.
Boat after rigging probably cost more but I don't feel a need to add up the totals... again, paid cash but I bought all the extras separate from the boat.

Most expensive car I've purchased is a WRX that cost me right under $27,000 new. MSRP was something like $29,000.
I just can't see spending more than that on a vehicle. Unless you've got enough saved up to put your kids through college and retire comfortably, you should really start from the presumption that you need to buy the absolute cheapest thing possible that meets your needs. I piled up quite a bit of money before I even felt OK buying a WRX instead of a Civic.

Bought a fully loaded diesel AT4 last year for 54k. My first new vehicle at 34 years old. Ironically it's current bluebook is over 10k more than I paid for it. Kind of a moot point since I would lose it all buying even a used truck.
Guess I'm in a good position if I absolutely have to get rid of it.
I want to keep it though, it's a great truck. Gets about 23MPG and is nicer than what I really need.

Like $16,000. I will never throw a ton of money at something I only need for driving to work and driving to the store.
