Superior is not easily the worst Mexican in BR. Las Palmas is worse, for one.

Del Porto in Covington...I have yet to have a good meal there and cringe when friends insist on going.
Oxbow 7 in Houston - Ox Lot 9 in Covington sounds similar, but is Muuuch better. To be fair, I've only been twice. Overall, Houston's food scene is pretty weak imho.
The Lady and Sons- Savannah...fried chicken was solid, but waaaay overrated. Yes, I know...it's a tourist thing. The food scene is okay there but skip this place.
Diamond's Edge - Portland, Maine- beautiful view from the "lawn" (outdoor dining in July was nice), but the food - Nope! The best thing I had up there was...gulf shrimp with Pontchatrain blue crab.
Hominy Grill - Charleston- The shrimp and grits are supposed to be the "thing" but it was quite disappointing. Charleston has a solid food scene so frick this place.
These are some of the places I handled up recently that were overrated imo.

Rendezvous for us, no question. It's fine (though not at that price) but in no way should be the face of what this city has to offer. I'm reasonably confident I could name 50 barbecue joints I would recommend before Rendezvous.
This
When you eat at a rib joint and the most memorable dish you had was the slaw it tells you all you need to know.... Their ribs aren't even in the top 10 in this city.

Anything at Shem Creek in Charleston/Mt. Pleasant.

The food is bland, way overpriced for Mexican and other than Great Wall, I've heard more stories of people finding bugs in their food at this place than any other.

Thin fried catfish? Bunch of BS. It's cut so thin that it's deep fried batter that tastes like fish. Such a scam. They can take a filet and make four pieces out of it because it's sliced so thin.
Give me a thick catfish filet any day.
Apparently you can't read a menu because they offer THICK catfish filet for sale.

Hattie B's in Tennessee
Bull shite. Hattie B's is awesome.
I will concede that it is not worth waiting in that line for an hour, but order online and pick it up for speed. It's good stuff.
To be fair, there are very very few places that I can think of where I would wait in an hour line to eat there.
ETA: Gus's is better

Hattie B's is indeed overrated, but I expect disappointment in "Nashville" hot chicken every time.

I agree with all of this, and now that I think about it, I'll take Gus's hot chicken over Hattie B's every time.

Are you shitting me? That's fricking shredded cheese out of a bag and sprouts on $1 a loaf grocery store bread. 10$ for that POS sandwich and a restaurant full of people convinced the food was amazing because it's in an old building and hippies made it.
In all fairness my trained eye has that as hand shredded cheese not pre shredded out of a bag thus adding to the freshness claim and certainly the labor cost to actually shred it.

The fact that they usually have 2 different Van Winkle whiskeys on the shelf takes them off of the list. The blue cheese chips are legit, too.
