Hey hg, I'm from Minden too and remember that trailer falling on the guy. Haven't lived there for 30 years but still have family there.
My freshman year at Tech (1985), an acquaintance broke the chain securing the door to the roof of an 11 story dorm (Nielsen Hall). We heard he was standing on the ledge up there threatening to jump. We ran from our dorm over there to see if we could help. We hollered at him from the ground to try to talk him out of it. He stepped back out of our view and we breathed a sigh of relief. Sadly, he had stepped back to get a running start. We saw him jump and heard him screaming all the way down. Landed on a bike rack with a sound I'll never forget. Found out later it was all over a girl who was still in high school. He had been planning it for two months. RIP CG

Old friend shot himself in front of the office of the doctor who botched his back surgery and permanently crippled him.

Guy gets 3rd degree burns from head to toe nearly 100% total body surface area. He comes into ER immediately. He can talk, walk, act completely normal. He has minimal pain. He is trying to joke with the medical staff but everybody knew he would likely be dead within a few hours.
Wow. Thats insane.

My first cousin's grandpaw on his mom's side of the family was going to the bathroom to take a leak. He tripped on the rug in the bathroom and fell headfirst into the edge of the toilet bowl, snapping his neck, and instantly paralyzing him. Nobody knew this happened, so he suffocated after a few minutes and died. Shitty way to go, imo, he was an older fella but still had many miles to go. Just a freak accident.

21 year old who recently got breast implants called for difficulty breathing. At first, she would only have to take a deep breath every 4 breaths or so, but otherwise was breathing normally. We took her to the hospital. She stopped breathing about 5 minutes later and I was doing cpr by myself until we got there. She died of a pulmonary embolism, which is sometimes a side effect of surgery. At least she left with a nice rack.
Every up and coming slut should hear this story.

-Guy's head cut in half by a chain that broke off while he was unloading a tractor trailer.
-Young girl involved in a head-on; they hit with such force that it shoved her completely up under the steering wheel.

Never had a thread get bumped 10 months later before
Glad it did though, these stories are all so morbidly fascinating.

Back when I was younger, a friend lived in one of these water front communities. His older brother and friends used to sky dive and land in the water behind his house. Used to do "cut-aways" and drop in the water from a pretty good height. There was usually a crowd of people partying and getting seriously fricked up. One time he didn't make it. Died right there in front of his friends and younger brother.
Can't remember if he lander on something.... I think he landed on one of his friends (or vice versa).

My great uncle was carrying two buckets of water to flush toilets (frozen pipes). He tripped over and fell flat on his face, paralyzed himself. Didn't die immediately, but did die soon thereafter.

Distant cousin got shot by cops (JPSO) as he was climbing out from under a house. They thought he was a suspect with a weapon. He was a plumber with a wrench. They had him surrounded and called him out. fricking cowboy cop was never charged.

My stepdaughter's teacher died in the shower. Slipped and broke her neck, I think.

Someone I know back up over their own son on accident. Cannot even imagine that.
My dad had an older brother who died when my grandmother backed over him while he had been playing underneath the family car. He lived for a couple years, but had a lot of complications and spent his last couple of years going to specialists all over before he passed.
My dad had another brother who died in Vietnam. He was on watch one night when their camp came under mortar fire. He apparently saved a few lives before he was hit by a shell. Had to be indentified by his dental record. He received the bronze star.

They were killed by Derrick Todd Lee, so this is a somewhat special time for me.

As a first responder I went to a one car accident. The driver had been drinking and was chasing/speeding after her man who had not come home. She lost control and flipped the car in front of a house. She had 2 small children with her and NO carseats.
We could only find one child. Then we saw a tiny hand peeking out from under the flipped car. The baby had been crushed instantly, falling thru the open sunroof of the car. Poor sweet lil baby.
After the scene was clear we were picking pieces of her brain out of the grass so that the homeowners did not have to deal with it.
