Can't believe Shreveport isn't on there, seems like we have shootings and killings every day.

Six pages in and no one shitting on Saint Louis...

There are many reasons to live in Santa Fe vs ABQ but can't say I have ever had an issue in ABQ, airport is easy to access, and craft beer all over.

What’s your point?
my point is, what makes you think Africa’s trajectory would be significantly different if Europe hadn’t raided their natural resources

its not like they had taken advantage of those resources in the previous centuries, relative to what Europe accomplished without them

Who’s to say they wouldn’t have? Or that they needed to? Does every country need to generate some kind of resource for the rest of the world? Are you a globalist?

If your argument is that, say, Belgium was justified in committing genocide and putting an entire population into slavery in the Congo just so the world could have more rubber, then this conversation isn’t going anywhere. We have different moral compasses.

The list is really just more AI slop

OP probably got it from one of those Facebook “news” sites hence the no link to where they got their data or how the ranking is determined

But hey, it confirms his biases and the feelings of many here, so who has time for those pesky facts?

definitely not

i’d much rather each country be left alone to develop at its own pace, and not have their populations invade other nations to exploit them and thrir resources (or have their populations swarm to nations with superior infrastructure to take advantage of their altruism)

sadly, human nature isnt like that

not my argument at all

likewise, if your argument is that all peoples possess equal abilities for societal organization and technological advancement, and that because Belgium put the entire Congo population into slavery a couple of centuries ago that the Congolese (and pretty much every other non-European in the world) now deserve the right to the wealth and property of modern Belgians as compensation, effectively destroying Belgian society, then you’re absolutely correct, we do have different moral compasses

Brother all I ever said was that Africa has been raided for its resources for most of modern history, implying that plays a role into these cities being as dangerous as they are today. Poverty is a breeding ground for crime

and that because Belgium put the entire Congo population into slavery a couple of centuries

If that’s too far back, there are several examples within our lifetime we can discuss. Depending on your age.

Port Morseby is dangerous? Never would have guessed. I only knew of the City because I’m a WWII nerd.

Anyone who believes Memphis, TN is the 9th most dangerous city on earth is dangerously gullible and/or straight up insane.

The United States is the most effective charity in the world in terms of billions the taxpayers have had wasted in Africa. There’s no saving the natives, nor was there ever. Get the frick out of here with this muhhhh colonialism is the root of all problems horseshite. Or at minimum take is back to Reddit where I’m sure you’ll get dozens of upvotes from other brain dead Leftists.

Copy, so you have never read a book or have a modicum of understanding of history. As I’ve laid out a couple times in this thread, feel free to google the phrase “United States and Jonas Savimbi” and come back.

This is misleading. There are almost 7,000,000 people in the incorporated area of Santiago, Chile versus less than 500,000 in the incorporated area of Atlanta. So yes, maybe crime in Atlanta proper, per capita, is on par with Santiago, or a little worse. Crime in the overall Atlanta Metro (which also contains about 7,000,000 people) most definitely is not. Frankly, the fact that Santiago proper is roughly as dangerous as the innermost, most urban part of Atlanta doesn't reflect very well on Santiago. Atlanta's not all sunshine and rainbows, but at least I can drive around Dunwoody or Forsyth County and not face the same risk of violent crime as I would Downtown.

Atlanta is a big city with big city problems but there's no way it's top 50 in the world for being dangerous. Unless we also include car wrecks.
