Every time I hear the word "synergy" I have to resist the urge to laugh that they actually used that word seriously.

Let me get with you on something that i wanted to circle back on. Need to make sure we are synergized for the upcoming Q3. This may require a deep dive, be prepared.

Before a new hire came on, my old company had a meeting about switching up our phrasing of poorly engineer "rigs," rhyming was discouraged.

Yeah, synergy is an awful word. I also despise "networking".

Been out of the work place a couple of years, so not sure if these are still popular:

Drill down - while this one can be used appropriately in the IT sector (or even a machine shop... ), applying it to other work or office disciplines always bugged me. What if I want to drill around?

Circle back - always bought to my mind the image of a dog chasing his tail.

I've been hearing people around my office using the acronym "HMFIC" a lot lately. As in, "who is the HMFIC (head mother f$%^&r in charge) today?"

I'm so glad you didn't actually type out "motherfricker".

Also the first reference I heard to that was long ago and was HNIC. The N was the now unspeakable word.

I'll go with robust. "The reporting capabilities of this system just aren't robust enough for our needs."

In the USMC, I've heard E-6's and up completely butcher the word "beehoove" so much I don't even know if it is actually a word anymore. It's always "it would be-who-of you to do 'x'"

And they completely use it in the wrong context.

Give this task a "shirt size" is one I just started hearing last week.

I sat there and listened to three people debating if the shirt size was small or medium. I could have done the task in the time the task's shirt dimensions were established.
