Mom's maiden name was Pitre, her mother's maiden name was Sonnier.
My last name comes from a French soldier stationed at Fort Toulouse near present day Montgomery, who moved with his family to Louisiana after the British won and took control of Alabama in 1763. Once in Louisiana they intermarried with the Cajuns but the name is originally directly from France.

My grandmother’s maiden name was Cutrer. She was from somewhere around New Orleans, not exactly sure where.

Yup
We chopped over to HMM-164(C) for a WestPac on the USS Okinawa. Ended up the first boats in the Gulf when Saddam invaded Kuwait.
He was killed in the crash after I got out.
