Kansas is even worse in the summer after a shower and the feed lots start getting really rank. Then not only is the drive boring it stinks worse than something that really, really stinks a lot. A/C doesn't really stand a chance at defeating it either.

I don't find any drives out west boring. Even though it's open nothingness. It's so beautiful and scenic. Driving through the southeast sucks because it's nothing but pine trees.

Drive from Dayton Ohio to Toledo Ohio. Not a long drive, but I can see why Bowling Green has a bad drug problem. That is absolutely brutal.

You find tumbleweed and grass that much more invigorating? You don't see the people who made Planet Earth going into West Texas or Kansas to shoot beautiful wildlife. They feature plenty of forests though.
