Corporations don't pay 21% and they definitely won't pay 28%. They'd go broke. They use the existing tax laws to depreciate and deduct everything under the sun. I don't blame them.

Yeah, raising corporate taxes that much definitely wouldn't impact the cost of every day items or force companies to cut jobs to squeeze margin.

Those darn wealthy need to pay their fair share!!! *shakes fists at the sky*

The middle class will take it right up the cornhole as always with these tax increases.

I'm not sure there's anything else that would make our founding fathers more incensed should they rise from the dead and take a look at our country. There's a lot of things they'd hate, but holy shite they'd explode at that.

And most individuals pay no income tax at all, and a shite load get money back in the way of refundable credits.

Corporations have to make a profit to remain a going concern, adding a surcharge on their earnings by way of a tax increase directly impacts consumers.

Oh yay! We haven’t had a post in 30 minutes where some deluded progressive demanded that more taxes need to be paid by anyone or everyone!

Much of TCJA sunsets in 2025 so it'll either have to be extended or things will revert to pre 2017

Yeah, I definitely remember when consumer rpices saw a sharp decline following the 2017 corporate tax cuts.

In fairness, I don’t think they would necessarily see the wisdom in step up basis for assets, either

Do you remember the one time dividends to shareholders to distribute the increased cash?

Those dividends paled in comparison to the amount corporations used for stock buybacks.

Paul Harvey was famous for saying this. However, it is true. Corporations do not pay taxes.
