It doesn't say they caught it at the day care center. Out of 12,000 day care centers 300 kids have tested positive. They could have caught it anywhere. There are over 100,000 kids in day care centers in Texas. If it transmitted easily from kid to kid, there would be thousands of sick kids. More of the workers have caught it than the kids.

This is obviously a spin piece not based on science.

Texas has a population of 29,000,000 people. So 300 kids, 100 will have symptoms of which maybe 30 will require hospitization. None will die.

BFD.

More kids requires hospitalization due to diarrhea.

They are not essential workers. So it’s only unfortunate.

15 kids died from the Flu in Texas this year. Hundreds were hospitalized.

0 kids have died from covid.

Based on this article's tone, we will never be able to open a daycare or school.

Why is this so surprising to everyone?

The plan was to flatten the curve.

That is still the plan but it sure as hell isn't flat now and thought processes like yours don't consider that.

I don't want anything to be shut down but obviously self responsibility is a lost trait.

Considering daycares are incubators of all kind of every kind of viruses and infections, is it really that bad?

So like one kid positive per every two daycares? This sounds pretty minor.

1 out of every 20 daycares has a kid or worker who had a positive test. Doesn't mean any caught it at the daycare.
