If somebody says the tax plan hurt them, there is a 5% chance they are telling the truth, because that is the % of americans who are paying more.

Actually in Louisiana, the % paying more is wayyyyy lower than national average. I'd say 2% chance they are telling the truth.

What is happening is that a bunch of angry, bitter, mouthy democrats from now orleans and north baton rouge are lying about their tax situation in order to bitch about trump. I am noticing this is happening on a sunday. Their passa at church probably gave them a biased lecture on it and they are repeating the bs here.

It is a very small % of people that are paying more. If they are Democrats shouldn't they be happy about that?

This is what is ironic. The people paying more are the people the left thinks SHOULD be paying more. Rich people in expensive homes.

I don't believe the OP. If he lives in TN, I just don't see where the increase in liability is coming from. Unless he lives in the biggest house in the state.

I made more than last year. Took home more per check. And still got a little back. Hail Trump.

To pay for any of the left's social programs that they are always championing you'll have to soak the middle class too.

Put money in the Roth however.

Because even if they renew the rates, this will still be the lowest taxes you’ll pay due to how the inflation calculations on the brackets and deductions work now.

It’s a long term tax increase honestly.

You’d be surprised, and probably outraged at what the people devising new tax plans consider “rich.”

Yep. My wife and I are in the 90th income percentile in Louisiana. We live on a budget

I pay as little as possible. It's the patriotic thing to do.

Good thing everybody whose taxes dropped doesn’t feel obligated to start a new thread like every a-hole paying more

95% of households saw a benefit. 95% of democrats will tell you they got "royally screwed" and paid much more in taxes this year. Funny how that works.

I'm not saying they are all lying. Half of them are probably just really stupid.

Over benefit to poor was .4%, 1.4% for middle class, and 3.6% for wealthy.

Overall everyone benefited. Just people got their money a little more every month instead of at the end of the year. Just that people have become obsessed and counting on tax returns this year thus people are pissed.

You're never going to convince the mouth breathers. No matter what facts you present to them, no matter how many people in every thread detail how much they saved this year, it won't matter. Why?

Because ORANGE. MAN. BAD!!

It's amazing watching grown adults ignore reason and rational though backed up with facts and statistics purely out of emotional spite. I probably should say toddlers instead of grown adults. The way they respond resembles toddlers more accurately anyway.

We made more in 2018 than 2017...paid less in taxes. Took home more on our paychecks.

We owe a small amount for federal but will be covered by our state refund and still leave us with a tiny state refund.

I'm used to getting more as a refund...but once I got over the initial disappointment(I was gonna pay off some medical bills with the refund) I'm fine with it. Not worth changing any of our withholdings.
