Whose pocket does the leftover $499,999 go in after they take it down?

A planning committee in Caddo Parish has recommended setting aside up to $500,000 to move a Confederate monument. News outlets report the Long Range Planning/Special Projects Committee of the Caddo Parish Commission made the decision at a meeting Monday. The full commission is expected to vote on the proposal in early December.

I'll tear down the statue for $100,000 and save that parish $400,000.

I know one of the lawyers who worked on the court case concerning the statue (he had the pro-statue side). The statue's removal is going to be a major undertaking due to weight and size.

The concrete is the cheap part, it's destroying the history and pride that gets expensive. You know how much demolition costs on a cubic yard of pride?

That’s not gonna be like pulling down REL in Nola.

That monument is the size of a small house.

Lol rent a crane for a day. Statue down.

Flat bed truck for a day, statue hauled away.

Find someone who wants the statue as a donation. Statue disposed of.

There is not 500K worth of work involved.

I'm sure once they have been removed all the snowflakes in the area will feel so much safer, less triggered and will reduce crime. Please reference New Orleans.

Notice how this becomes an issue during election season? Ignore it, don't let it work you up. That's what they are expecting people to do.
