OT baller card: Revoked.
$25k isn't close to what they can be worth on the upper end of the spectrum.
Wealthy people spend their money on things, and being the owner of a top-flight field trial dog/dogs is one of them. Many of them will never even know the dog, but they are the owners no doubt.
When a sire is bringing thousands for a stud fee, or a dam is throwing litters worth tens of thousands, the dog's monetary worth skyrockets.

The 25k dog without paperwork is not worth 1k

Which is why the selling him theory doesn't make sense. The dog is worth more to him in training fees than he could possibly sell him for. I think something happened to the dog either through malice or negligence and he didn't want the owner to see the body.

Had a black lab hunting retriever champion I raised when I was in college , I was about 21-22 when a guy offered me 10k for my dog, told him no. He said everything is for sale, 10k and first puppy from her litter... still said nope. Best dog I’ve ever had.

He’s done this before and got caught by another owner FWIW.

That's not very smart.
I'll never understand some people's attachments to animals.
But my Dad bred Australian shepherds that were ASDR and later AKC. Good bloodlines too.
My family just viewed dogs as work dogs or resources to be traded, leased and sold, like cows, chickens and goats.
Never had an inside pet either.

I bet the dog's name was Cujo or something similar

The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office is asking for help in the search for a missing five-year-old Labrador retriever investigators believe was sold by a trainer
The dog is at the center of a theft investigation that started on Sept. 21.
Lester Langley, age 44, is facing one count of felony theft connected to the disappearance of "Ace."
According to OPSO, Ace weighs 70 to 75 pounds and does not have any distinctive markings. He does have an identification chip in his neck that can be scanned.
OPSO said Langley allegedly took the dog to Wisconsin for the summer, and Ace has not been returned to his owner. Langley told investigators Ace died, but they believe hew as sold.

I’d say they should sell the suspect but I don’t think they would get $2.50 for his arse, let alone $25k.

Ace looks exactly like my buddy. I’d fricking kill that trainer if I was the owner.

I get the sentiment though, people treat them as if they are humans. They don’t have feelings. They don’t have their favorite music they like to listen to. Doggy moms are weird as frick. Having to bring a dog with you everywhere you go to the point you fake emotional support papers to do so it’s absolutely crazy. They are animals.

You’ve expressed that previously.
I don’t understand men’s obsession with their fat wives.
