1) how would they be safer in Somalia of all places? We’re talking about the same place that has terrorist organizations, war lords, and pirates.

Perfectly valid, IMO, and that’s how I feel as well.
At the same time though it’s hard for me to go “gotcha!” toward the U.K. when the per capita murder rate is 20x higher in Baton Rouge.

If we are being honest, weapons, regardless of type whether they be knife or gun, have no bearing on murder rates. Wyoming has more guns per capita and less murders per capita than anywhere in the US. They’re are neighborhoods in the UK with extremely high murder rates while most the country is low.

Knife crime in the UK is real and has hit an alarming rate. They are trying to do knife control and it is not working at all.
