Mom got admitted to the hospital today

I’m sitting next to her here in Paducah. She had a catheter put in today and thankfully no blockage to her heart. She is overweight and needs to diet, but at 63 years old and her memory not as good, it’s on stepdad to take care of that.
After laying down on the table for five hours, they got her up to walk and blood just started shooting out everywhere from her leg. They got it under control and it looks like it’s an over-nighter here. Kinda scary feeling. Dad just turned 65 and he ain’t too happy about it. I told him he qualifies for the Senior Sportsman’s license for $12 now.

They couldn’t do the catheter through her wrist because of previous scar tissue, so they had to go through her leg. When she got up to walk around, that’s when the blood started shooting out. It’s likely due to her not staying still through the procedure and they had her laying down for almost 5 hours.

It's tough for anyone, much less someone her age/memory issues to lay for that long. Hopefully it works out.

Did they use some type of closure device or hold pressure by hand? Bleeding is the biggest complication of those procedures. Glad there is no blockage.
