Is it me, or should the sex of the child play a part of who gets custody assuming both parents are fit to have custody. I feel a son should be more with the father and a daughter should be more with the mom

Unfortunately, there is a large number of females who feel the need do achieve public vindication like this. What started out as genuine admiration for single mothers who through misfortune were in difficult circumstances and worked hard to get out of them has been corrupted into some faux empowerment ideal for the irresponsible, petty, vindictive and narcissistic. It really grew out of daytime talk shows. Facebook and social media have made this worse.

It’s sad when you encounter a person like this because they become SO wrapped up in the whole idea of victimhood they lose touch with reality. They view the children as possession or trophies to be “won”. They complain about having to “raise children on their own” yet do everything in the power to keep the children’s fathers from participating.
