I don't know or think he has a financial stake in the vaccine. Just that the institute he is the Director of is working with Moderna on the vaccine, helping as experts and with research, development, etc..

That goes against clinical trial protocol...reason being that if the vaccine is a dud, you're going to kill some people needlessly. So that's why they choose such a large number. They're going to be able to see how many end up getting infected anyway across the two groups and how severe their experience with it is.
Not to mention, since it's a double blind trial, you have to treat both patient groups the same so you can single out the effect of the variable (the vaccine)...so you'd also have to purposely expose those people who are on placebo, which again would kill people and be unethical.

It’s called a conflict of interest!! It would be no different if you’re a Dr. you really shouldn’t be operating on a family member or a loan officer clearing checks for a family member.

It also makes me think of the ethical concerns of certain football teams exposing their players to the virus so as to “get it over with now “rather than having a spike during the season. I’m not saying that Saban, Dabo, or O did that, but.......

Why? There are plenty of people who are regularly exposed to the virus through their job. Certainly enough that you could easily fill that 30,000 quota.

Those types of trials are called "challenge trials."
NIH has determined that challenge trials would take way longer to complete successfully than the large, randomized, controlled trials are faster and more effective.

So you think that Fauci has the power to influence the data for a clinical trial of 30,000 people being collected across hundreds of clinical trial sites, and then somehow railroad this through the FDA, over which he has no direct influence whatsoever? shite, he's the most powerful human on the planet
Of course any of that would get him locked up for the rest of his life.

Researchers do this with monkeys, not humans.
Early on I felt like China would win the vaccine race because they could use their millions of political prisoners as guinea pigs. Even if you believe China intentionally unleashed covid on the world to cause disruption, holding a vaccine over the world as leverage would be infinitely more powerful.

China has a vaccine that has been given emergency authorization use. Sounds like just their military but I’m not sure.
