And we the people keep voting these same assholes in office.

It completely amazes me..

They are all the same established politicians who could give two shits about the American people just about staying in power and we let them.

You’re in a contract to repay those loans. Surely you remember signing that?

I don’t understand why the qualification on the $2,000 is tied to income from 2019. If you had a high income, but were not in a position to save most of it, and lost your job in 2020, you’re more in need than someone of a slightly lesser income who gets the stimulus and never lost their job.

She’s probably pro life, wants conservative judges appointed, wants taxes reduced, etc.

It’s funny how you guys think everyone looks at politics through a purely emotional lens like you do.

What I don't understand is why don't you cut from all those other countries we are donating to in the bill and give it to the American people? You could easily cut all that shite out and give each person $2,000. Classic government, we pay taxes and they hand our money over to other countries for relief.

Well Brodie, the government decided to force closures of businesses, taking jobs away from certain sectors of the economy... pretty sure the employees and business owners didn’t sign a contract for any of that. Seems like school didn’t help you be any less moronic. Wasted your money it looks like.

And before you say anything about me wanting the money, don’t need it, don’t want it.

Because it's a SEPARATE bill. Two entirely different budgets, pots of money and agencies. The "bill" is a compilation of numerous budgets covering virtually all
agencies and aspects of the federal government.

Why is this so difficult to understand?

How so? Unemployment, those on government assistance were the lowest under President Trump before Covid struck. LaToya is all about ruining businesses and getting government handouts.

How does President Trump lowering taxes for working people, creating jobs, low gas prices, getting people off welfare make him like someone destroying New Orleans?

Why won't McConnell allow one vote on the $2000? Why is he bundling it with the other two items.

It shows exactly how much of a shitshow Washington is and how the whole system is broken.

So that it has absolutely zero chance of passing, but he can still say "well, I brought it up, it just didn't pass".

Yep. You want to stimulate the economy (which they don't care about because they have huge salaries, pensions, kickbacks) then cut taxes and wasteful spending. You know, what taxpayers who pay your salary want you to do.

I understand the economics of not giving people $2000, but the optics for most people make the Senate Republicans look stupid.

Part of the problem with our political system is that none of them seem to stand up for the right move if that move is not politically expedient.

Just because people yell and scream that they "deserve" whatever "stimulus" payment is being debated doesn't make it a good decision. Blanket payments to Americans is a bad idea. Period. Sure, it will make stupid people love those who vote for it, but it is well past time for us to stop letting stupid people dictate what decisions are made.

There are far too many people in this country who legitimately believe this is free money. There are far too many people in this country who have had no real financial impact from the pandemic who believe they are entitled to that money and are gleeful in receiving it. That is sad.
