My corporation has been more productive remote. We are all getting a bonus this month because of it.

Yeah a survey of what, them and their friends?
Yea probably so.
All the post said was “in a one day survey, teachers overwhelmingly blah blah blah”

I have a 9 year old boy on the spectrum. He's doing very well because of people like you. I would like to say thank you for what you do; I know it's hard. You are making a bigger difference than you probably know, and we are in your debt. God bless you, sir.

Have you been to a DMV?
DMV (and most state employees) are not professionals with a degree or certificate like teachers, nurses, etc. I consider them clerical or admin, although some may be quite professional.

Thanks for those kind words..it's nice to hear. I'm doing telehealth sessions all day trying to do what I can, but these kids need socialization and the peers who understand them. Pray your boy continues to do well!!

The teachers don't want to go back. Will they still be paid?

I’m cool with no public schools in Mississippi opening as long as the teachers don’t get paid and parents are given vouchers to cash in to send their kids to private schools that are open.
Also these selfish teachers who always complain about how underprivileged students always suffer in the current “system” are actively keeping them down forcing this lockdown. The kids with hands on parents will make sure their kids learn. The inner city jackson area kids will suffer from lack of help at home and teachers that don’t care and refuse to teach online or learn how to use tech to teach.

I saw a FB post by a teacher touting a poll of teachers in Louisiana that showed 80% of teachers said they don’t think in-person school is safe enough yet.
Caddo Parish (Shreveport) polled their teachers. The superintendent claimed only about 25% either didn’t want to go back, and those numbers included teachers that wanted more information before answering.

These teachers just don't want to work.
Unpopular opinion, but I'll say it: Teachers are overpaid.

Time to start furloughing teachers.

agreed, I had to unfriend my friends mom and my old english teacher from the 10th grade
she was on facebook taking vacation after vacation to the beach/river/float trips/ you name it with her group of girls. Well she would make posts talking about how dangerous Covid was and how we needed to protect ourselves and she would make posts talking about how she goes on these vacations and she sees people not social distancing and she is never wearing a mask at any of these vacation events, she only takes them when she's in her car going to these places
The dumbass runs deep folks

Louisiana’s Teachers’ Unions and Louisiana Trial Attorneys opposed the immunity just granted to schools for COVID exposure.

Don’t teach then don’t get paid. Easy as that.

It's these dumbasses that give teachers a bad name. I teach and coach football at a public school here in Mississippi. This was the first I've heard of this. I've been at summer workouts with 50 or so players since June 1. I'm ready to go to work. I'm ready to teach in the classroom, not that online stuff that is a joke. I'm ready to coach football. Our district is opening for students in the classroom the first week of August. If these losers don't want to do their job don't pay them, but please don't dump me and most other teachers in with these losers. All teachers I know want to go back and do their job. We are no more special than fast food workers, grocery workers, truck drivers, factory workers, etc.
