Missing Silver Alert: Shreveport and/or East Texas. Just Trying Anything Here

Moody Pool is 91 and like most men his age won't stop working or doing things all by themselves. He left his home in Upshur County, TX yesterday afternoon where he's lived basically all his life. He missed a mark somehow. He was only going to town to pay a bill and ended up in Shreveport believe it or not. He was helped by LE after being stuck and pointed back to I20 West. This was around 7:00 PM... No telling how long he drove to get there or why.
I'm asking anyone in the NETx or NWLa area who may spot a 2007 Ford F-150, Black, with an old tired man around to grab him in a hug and call any local LE.
I've driven from Gilmer to Marshall and Logansport and Carthage and even ShreBo so far and haven't had any luck. About 320 miles.
I don't ask much here but this is a big deal. Sincere thanks.

People really need to spend the $100 to put a GPS tag on their seniors’ key ring.

Shame it wasn’t i10, you could have just sat back and waited for the slow driver in the left lane thread and narrowed down the location

I would give anything if there was a way to chip drivers license after a certain age. Something. Moody doesn't have a phone or even pay w a card. Cash only. This is a fricking mess.

he probably lost control due to all the bumps and pot holes along that stretch

Hell, I was surprised by the surface from the state line. Even the rest area on the line is nice now.

Dang just drove thru that area. Dont recall a black ford, but it was dark most the way. I'll keep an eye out though.
Good luck.

That's a great idea. Good luck.

Right? I'm not an advocate for tracking but if you're 75 and over good grief, anything helps.

Hope he's found soon. My Dad is 86 and is the same way. Only cash and doesn't have a cell phone. I purchased a simple cell phone for my Dad to use, tried to show him how to use it but he refuses to take it with him.

Surprised LE just pointed him in the right direction instead of helping him by contacting family or friends. You’d think they could tell he was disoriented. We had an old lady in the neighborhood that went missing for over a year and a hunter finally found her car where she had driven off into so:e dense brush. Sad!

Sad deal, hopefully he stopped at a hotel or something. Expecting the worse but praying for the best.

About 1:30 AM I happened on 2 DPS Troopers at a Cefco and asked about the Alert rules. They both knew about the story of him being helped in Caddo Parrish. I asked if there was a way to bypass a clinical diagnosis of dementia to open a Silver Alert and they both said it made sense but had no say. They swore to keep an eye out and I drove away. We are all driving around God knows where looking.

Prayers for Moody. Hoping he is found safe soon.

Will be driving from Dallas to Shreveport leaving around 2:00. Will certainly be on the lookout.

Along with roadways, check all parking lots where he might have pulled over and stopped to rest.
Prayers sent.

What section of Bert Koons Loop? Just wondering how sure the police were that he at least got on I20 and headed westbound. Even the one near that red roof inn has different designs to get in i20 depending on what side of i20 you are coming from. If closer to 49 there are multiple ways he could have ended up eastbound. Unless they were right at i20 and saw him actually driving away westbound on i20 I can see several places where he could have started out following directions but ended up eastbound especially if getting tired and maybe dehydrated at point of accident. If silver alert not issued hade the cities east of Shreveport been notified?
