MISSING RELATIVE FOUND

My brother-in-law went missing about 4:30 this afternoon. The last time he was seen was at the Shell station at 3501 Williams Blvd, Kenner (corner of W. Esplanade and Williams) as he was waiting for his wife to come out of the convenience store of the service station. She came out of the store and he was gone. He is white, about 5' 9" tall a little cubby and 76 years old. He looks very much like Jim Valvano, the N.C. state basketball coach from the 80s. He was driving a grey Nissan rogue SUV with
La license plate # 729FKK. He lives in North Kenner, so no telling where he may have gone as he suffers from mild dementia. We have notified the police but not sure how long it will take for them to be active.
Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated. I know that the OT has been very helpful in helping people out in these situations.

About
In 2008, the Louisiana legislature enacted legislation creating a Silver Alert program to identify and locate missing adults with a mental impairment, including Alzheimer's disease or dementia (LRS 40:2530.1 Act No. 453). The Louisiana Legislature finds that, in the case of a missing senior citizen or missing person with developmental disabilities, the first few hours in locating the individual are critical. To aid in the identification and location of missing senior citizens and missing persons with developmental disabilities, there is hereby created the missing senior citizen and missing person with developmental disabilities alert program, also called the “Silver Alert Act” and referred to in this Chapter as the “program”, to be implemented by the secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections.
Criteria for Using the Louisiana Silver Alert Act
The Louisiana Silver Alert Act is intended to assist law enforcement in locating certain missing persons. The Louisiana Silver Alert Act does not limit law enforcement from the use of the same public notification resources in missing person cases issued by local law enforcement or cases not meeting these criteria. However, the term “Silver Alert” must only be used by the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Louisiana State Police (LSP) when local law enforcement requests our assistance in locating a missing adult and the missing is either of the following:
“Missing person with developmental disabilities” is a person whose whereabouts are unknown; whose domicile at the time he is reported missing is in this state; and whose disappearance poses a credible threat to the safety and health of himself, as determined by a local law enforcement agency.
"Missing Senior Citizen" is a person whose whereabouts are unknown; whose domicile at the time he is reported missing is in this state; whose age at the time he is first reported missing is 60 years of age or older; and whose disappearance poses a credible threat to the safety and health of himself, as determined by a local law enforcement agency.
Activation and Implementation of a Louisiana Silver Alert Act
When the disappearance of a person poses a credible threat to the safety and health of himself, and a Silver Alert needs to be issued, it is the responsibility of local law enforcement to notify the LSP in a timely manner so that other resources may assist in locating the missing person.
Deactivation of A Louisiana Silver Alert Act
It is the responsibility of the initiating agency to notify LSP as soon as possible after the missing person is located. This will allow LSP to contact media and any other public outlet requested to assist and notification to the Office of the Superintendent.

Prayers sent, but you've legitimately come to the right place. OT has worked miracles in this field before

There weren't any cameras at the convenience store or surrounding businesses?

What did surveillance video from the store show?

The Shell station said they do not have cameras. I find this hard to believe. I am letting the police deal with them directly. We are tirelessly trying to go by as many establishments as possible to see if cameras have picked up anything.

I've seen the OT solve crazier things. Hope y'all find him safe.

Do you know what neighbors he might frequent? I live near that area, let me know and I’m more than willing to help search

Ask the police about flock cameras if you have the license plate. They will get an alert if that vehicle drives by one of the cameras with a time stamp and photo. Hopefully they have some in the area

Maybe check at a previous address if there is one? I’m so sorry, praying for his safety.

A few questions come to mind in hopes maybe someone can be of help to you.
Did he leave the car behind at the Shell station and walk away or did he drive off?
Are there any distinguishing features on the car, like bumper stickers or window decals for schools/church/neighborhoods etc?
Is there anywhere your brother in law has a tendency to go or talk about often?
