Oates do you or anyone else have a direct link to these posts? A Shreveport news outlet is interested but need more than screenshots.

Didn't the kids he was with make the initial call to his family to say that he was missing? I mean, that could certainly be twisted to sound like they were covering it up but it seems way more likely that they had nothing to hide. I would say that 99% of the time, I left with the people that I came with and stood pretty strong on that policy. No man left behind. But, I know that I have definitely stayed behind to have more fun and have left a friend behind that insisted on having more fun. It's really sad all the way around for the kid that died, his family and friends, the kids that he was with and associated with that day, and they're even dragging a girl into it now. I just pray that all of the details come out, whatever they may be and even though they will be twisted. Everyone will forever be impacted by this, one way or another, in what seems like a really innocent day out having fun on the water.

That image has gone around for years...

I don't know if he should've put it in the pool while people were in it, but it's common practice to put acid in a pool to drop the PH. Too much chlorine causes an alkaline water PH, which irritates the eyes...

Obviously, it's a tragedy ,a young man lost his life. Now other young men who are most likely grieving the loss of their friend, traumatized by the event, are being brought under suspicion
not because of anything they actually did, but because everything is filtered through the lens of politics
And now you have this lawyer that, whether there is any merit to the case or not, they know that if they take the case and add their name to the hysteria, it will help raise money from people who really can't afford to be sharing money on something like this, extending the family's grief.
because instead of being able to mourn their son now they're thrust into the middle of some political/social media spectacle

No one wins except the lawyer

Do I need to explain to you the context in which it was being used, the post that I responded to the nature of the conversation in this thread ?

What exactly were you looking for?

Why do black people so often not know how to swim?

and that's your response?

Well the typical standard response to that question is that white people deny them access to pools, which was true up until the 60s
But since that was over 60 years ago, access to swimming pools has nothing to do with black people not being able to swim today. While it is true that most black kids may not have daily access to pools, most white kids don't have daily access to swimming pools either

So the picture in question was a sarcastic preemptive reply to what is typically the shifting of blame to that question.

This isn't the Oxford Debate Society; it's the OT
We can discuss current events, but we do so not necessarily frivolously or flippantly, but in a way that is fitting to the environment in which we are sharing the dialogue.

does that answer your question?

Everyone that has stated, or even implied, that these kids murdered the deceased have committed defamation per se. When the dust settles, I hope they have bankrupted everyone (including media outlets), and gotten Crump's lying, race-baiitng arse disbarred.

I posted in this thread, but didn't actually post anything regarding the actual main topic.

While I can certainly understand the skepticism regarding his friends. I refuse to accuse someone of murder without actual proof. That's just a step too far that some people have no issues doing apparently.

What I will say is, from what I've seen regarding the case. Those boys were not his friends. I don't mean this in the sense that they did something sinister, but rather , they just didn't care that much. How do you all go somewhere together, but then y'all have non-issue leaving someone behind, without having 100% certainty that said person will have a ride back. Not to mention, the young man's phone was allegedly left on the boat. So he wouldn't have even had a way of contacting anyone. You just don't do that.

Terrible friends. Not criminal activity however.

It's been done before.

You know, an interesting observation at this point in the conversation. There have been several cases where the media has leapt to conclusions or given oxygen to a racist blame narrative for a non racist event.

But I can't remember one national news story with a factual conclusion where it actually was racism since OJ was found innocent

Im sure someone will bring one up, please do. It's a dialogue and conversation; can we not be civil?

But truly, at this point how is the media, news, movies just entertainment industry in general, not absolutely complicit at this point for dividing the country and creating discord

We need another fighting Joe Mccarthy

Just a suggestion, but it might help your overall argument if you had enough examples from the current millennium to offset the growing problem of black violence.

Well do we know for a fact that they just abandoned him?

I mean I've been out with friends and they've gotten so drunk, and I was done and it was time to move on, and you could not separate them from the keg or the chick that they were with

At some point, if you say to a friend It's time we go and that friend refuses to go, they have the right to make that choice. I think that is consistent with the bro code regardless of the color of your skin. To let a bro to keep trying to get laid.

If he was with a girl as It's been referenced that that's a possibility Then obviously he was trying to get laid and his buddies weren't going to cock block him

thats what friends do, again, regardless of melanin

Skeptical that four preppy white boys could murder a college football player in front of hundreds of partygoers in broad daylight without anyone noticing?

Underage drinking — in the heat of summer — on an island — six miles off the coast.

Other posts, which admittedly are just as credible at this point as the racist banter being spewed by the black community, state his friends asked him to go back with them but he wanted to stay WITH OTHER PEOPLE HE KNEW.

Everybody on that island risked their lives that day, they just didn’t know it.

Tbh I don't know what type of bro code that is. Im not leaving my bro somewhere just because he's talking to a girl. Either I'll wait a lil for him to do his thing. Or I'll tell him to get her number because we're leaving. If we do leave him, I'm going to make sure he's got his phone in order to make sure he's ok and has a ride back.

But no, I'm not going to leave a friend behind with no ride with a random girl he just met. That's not cock blocking, that is being a good friend. Regardless of skin tone
