Guy has $15 billion, I’m sure he knows the cost to answer questions from curious friends, not because he needs to.

They actually are. Outside of the captain, first mate, head chef and engineer, the rest are paid peanuts compared to what they could make off the boat. The trade off is being able to travel the world and get paid to do it.

In-thread Spinoff: what's the largest boat you could conceivably run with a crew of just yourself?

What's the point of these yachts - to get into international waters where they can do evil things?
There's no age of consent in the bottom of the ocean.

Do you have no shame for directly stealing this?

Each of those under water LED pods cost like $3-5k

Rule of thumb is 10% of boat value per year.

45 ft would be as big as I think I could go solo.

I would do like Hub and Garth McCann and just put a boat in a pond...

I'd like to know how much it costs to run a boat like that for a year. Everything from crew, fuel, food, insurance, tax, docking fees etc.
I knew a guy that captained two boats for a Mexican billionaire. I believe he mentioned a rough estimate is around 10% the purchase price of the boat to run it per year.

When will someone just buy a carnival cruise ship and redo it as a yacht?
No, bruh. If you buy a 15 passenger van and deck out the interior in the finest this planet has to offer, you're still rolling around in a fricking utility van.

That larger ship has to be a huge headache to maintain. I dont care how much money they have.

Wait till Jerry J rolls out his new boat, it's 470 feet,
Azzam thinks it's about 121 feet too short.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. You anchor that thing at Grand Isle and you're slaughtering trout and poon.
Bring penicillin.
