When I was there back in the day the town was full of sluts. Very strong female to male ratio at the school

Congrats, would love to move back.

If you can find an apartment in downtown that would be what I would do. Lots of good bars and restaurants. Places like the Crescent and Red, White, and Brew are perfect bars for someone your age.

If you like sports, SLU games are always fun and cheap to go to.

Hammond is actually a decently kept secret. It has great restaurants and atmosphere with no traffic. I am in downtown now and it’s a decent spot. It has some areas like all towns that should be avoided.
I worked that baw life for years and it’s located perfectly for that. You can get away from the Nola trash with a hour drive of Baton Rouge and New Orleans area plants.

Is it though? Drugs are just a plentiful and the women are just as nice without all the pretentiousness.

I moved to Hammond @ 30, I really enjoy it.

There are a lot of cool loft/apts above businesses downtown that would be cool if you wanna spend most of your free time going out in downtown.

Start with checking the ritz apartments downtown and stay in that area.

Tacos and Beer, Red White and Brew, Mariners, One Thirteen are my go to places.

I have a boat and spend a lot of time on the water that is in every direction from Hammond/Ponchatoula

Chased tail all around SELU in my 20s. Good times and the M/F ratio at the school at least skews heavily female. So, your odds of picking up some pre-nursing trim are above average.

I grew up there. What the others said about the nightlife is true. Downtown has a railroad going through it and with it a ton of parking so you can park there and walk to quite a few bars, restaurants, novelty's stires and a salon. Most of the places mentioned by previous posters in downtown are exactly right next door to reach other and it worst a block away. Easy walking difference.

That area also has a few festivals and outings like the Strawberry Festival in Ponchatoula.

Honestly its not a bad place. There are always places to eat, bars, coffee shops but its not an upper class area so don't expect high end shops with a few exceptions.

A single 30s guy can have quite a bit of fun there. Close enough to BR and NOLA to get anything Hammond doesn't provide while not having to deal with those places 24/7. At your age I'd get an apartment off of old HWY 51 by St Thomas Aquinas until you decide to settle down.

It's not a fancy town by any stretch, but it's pleasant enough. Their downtown has some bars and restaurants that did pretty well before the pandemic.

Close to Baton Rouge and New Orleans. You can hop over to to either one of those or to the north shore for shopping. Taxes aren't insane in that parish either.

i don't live there, but frequent it often.. its a cool little town, and you're not far from a lot of places to go. (BR, NOLA, Missippi coast)

I moved here 6 years ago to be closer to family. The amount of fat ugly white females with black babies and EBT cards is unreal. I’ll be moving in the next year or 2. Walmarks is always good for some sights that you will want to forget
Edit
I forgot to mention the tattoos on these people. I don’t know who’s doing the tattoos around here but if their not wasting it on meth they should be really well off

That's why you go to target or rouses. Avoid Walmart like the plague.
