Reason 43928020432024 why I have no urge to ever go to Mexico. I'll stick with Central America, they're friendlier in Costa Rica.

~$85000 a year for something they can probably spend two weeks a year in. That’s INSANE. It’s wild to me that there are people that are smart enough to have managed to have that kind of disposable income available to them while at the same time making such TERRIBLE financial decisions.

Seriously, you should be able to rent a whole compound with maids and security in PDC for that.

I think the Palace resorts properties and service are excellent. However, they push this sales pitch on you and I’ve been twice now. I probably won’t return because of it.

Have some friends who bought into a timeshare. After a few years of using it less than they anticipated, they met with a timeshare rep to try to cancel. Instead, he talked them into buying a more expensive plan that was "a better deal."

Exact thing my mother did. She called to try to "sell" her Club Wyndham and ended up buying another one. They pitched it as an "investment property" in Atlanta with Club Wyndham. She has 3 now.

The companies that advertise how to get out of your timeshare are equally crooked. They almost never ever get you out of your timeshare but you have already given them thousands of dollars, then one day their phone is disconnected and their website and email server disappears, and they pop up as another company to rip off more people. At least the timeshare people actually give you a condo to stay in a few weeks a year, the hucksters that try to get you out of them provide nothing of value.

I felt bad for them at first, but then saw where the wife went on Facebook to give step by step instructions to other people on how to avoid paying and basically stiff the timeshares That is what pissed the Mexican authorities off.

Agreed. The only exception might be Disney Vacation Club.
I sold my points for more than I paid for them.

Yup, but all of the OT geniuses don’t want to hear it.
