Michigan City Designates "No-Hitting" Zones for Children

Madison Heights, a suburb of Detroit has designated 10 city-owned properties as "No-Hit Zones" in an effort to prevent parents from spanking their children.

Now the government wants to tell you how to discipline your children. Welcome to 2018 people.

If there are no penalties at all then this is just advertising a viewpoint, something governments do all the time. It has no more legal force than those road signs flashing how fast you're going. You're entirely welcome to ignore it.

Yea, but the "conversation" aspect of this advertisement is so in future ballots they can get votes to ban public spanking.

This is borderline ok with. No fines or penalties, so they are not dictating how I raise my child, but they are peacefully saying, please do not in this area, I am ok with it.
