Well, I did double my salary in those 4 years, so maybe I was blinded by the money they were throwing at me. But yeah, it took me 4 years (3 1/2 technically) to realize money doesn’t make you happy.

So is the white collar bubble bursting or not?

I didn’t even realize we were in one, but I will admit this thread has given me a better appreciation for the place I work that doesn’t expect us to work more than 40 a week very often.

This had the potential to be a great thread, but a few posters can't stop throwing up on their shoes.

You don't feel bad about the economy entering into a recession and people losing their jobs?

The economy is entering a recession precisely because of the overreaction to Covid, which encouraged the WFH movement.

My lunch lasts longer than 24 minutes, who's really the sad one here?

Are you a child? Or just the emotional capacity of one?

Crappy employees will get fired if good mangers do their job and are results driven. If the results are there, who cares where you work.

Yeah, it's unclear what Burry means by "culprit" here as it relates to WFH.

Its crystal clear. White collar jobs are on a down slope for some time to come. Because execs are quickly catching on to the fact that WFH folks arent that critical, and those jobs can be lost or absorbed

Then we go thru a period at the bottom, where people are just thankful to have a good paying job, and not bitching about the work load. So hiring become stagnant

All because of the exposure created by WFH

Sounds like efficiency bubble is offsetting the WC employment bubble; technology, AI, inflationary pressures have their fingerprints on this, I suspect.

WFH role not clear to me.

Actually you can if you choose to not work for a douche bag. There are a lot of us out there. Don’t be bitter because the world isn’t making other people take the shitty path it made you take.

That's your opinion, not a fact.

Have you heard of zoom.

yeah bro I use that stuff all day - we are often on calls with participants from 2-3 continents

There is a sense of discipline that comes from requiring shirts tucked in and 8am arrivals. There is plenty of body language that cannot be seen in a camera.

but you do you, keep them yoga pants on such.
