Well ordinarily I would agree with this as a general statement, but banging your head against a brick wall is not good.

Dead. Come on man!

Oh wait. Gotta be a joke. You’re not this ignorant. Well, maybe so I’m going to err on the side of caution and think you don’t know this.

Bayou Country Superfest at Tiger Stadium was well received. I do not know the financials but while working it I could tell the sales were good.

Baton Rouge is broke and they are handing out tax breaks for something that will probably wind up costing it more than it gave in tax breaks.

How many hotels would be filled if no concert?

How many restaurants would have no wait that weekend if no concert?

Do they pay tax?

Yall can be extremely short sighted…..

The louisiana way is to say frick it and stay bottom of the barrel. Br's growth needs to be hand in hand with LSU

Luke Combs is already playing a few college football stadiums next year. Seems to be a match.

The day LSU would allow 100K plus on campus for that show...

Would be a recruiting magnet though.

Looks to be a sales tax rebate of just the local tax at the actual event so the state will still get their ~4.5% and there will be all the revenue from the indirect spending as you mentioned.

We can have a philosophical discussion whether this shite should exist, but this is just how business is done at this point. And I can promise you these types of things take these incentives into account. Someone like Luke Combs or Post Malone is going to sell out whatever venue they go to so why would they pick Baton Rouge over another one if the competitor is going to give them incentive to be there?

Cost of doing business

Call it what it is -- tax giveaway to TicketMaster. Maybe they ran out of ideas for names for their fees.
