I just go to Dillards. I know that’s not the right answer, but I can easily take an off the rack Ralph Lauren suit and have it tailored with decent/good results. I know I’d look better in one twice as expensive, but so what?

If you want to spend a lot, there is a tailor on Govt street.
Mens Wearhouse can do a custom fit in about 2 weeks for around $600

Dillards is the best local bet. Their tailoring is very good also. HSM suits have several “fits” depending on you. Coat is usually 700 for off the rack and a little higher for more customization.

I fly to London and visit Rhodes Wood for my haberdashery needs.

I would get measured, then use a local or online tailor to make the suit you want so it actually fits your body type instead of hanging off you like a trash bag with sleeves like most suits.

I always wondered who was responsible for the horrendous outfits Ryan Clark wore on MNF. Now I know.

The only suit I wear is of the birthday variety.

"You will wear a [suit]. If you don't have one, buy one. Can't afford one, borrow one from your old man. Don't have an old man, find a drunk, and trade for his. Cause I guarantee you, there ain't a bum on the street that looks as raggedy and ridiculous as what I'm looking at."

Would dillards be a good place to get a Mardi Gras suit?

I do that every day, but in this case I have to give away the bride, just not in a tux. Have to look good for her not me.

Knew a guy who had a Hong Kong suit tailored. But, he was recovering from a broken leg so one leg was temporarily atrophied. His suit came in with two different leg sizes LOL

Purchased a suit last year from Men’s Warehouse and they did me right. Calvin Klein and did a good job tailoring it as well.

Suit Supply, if you have one nearby. I get the unlined Havana line, because I'm a sweaty bastard. I've worn them in lieu of a tux to Mardi Gras balls, etc.

Dillard's
End of discussion
They can tailor it. You don't need a "professional tailor"

Buy it at Dillard's. Make do with the closest fit possible and then return it to get your money back.
