Also I'm going to buy my groomsman suits to wear. I'll never understand asking someone to be a groomsman and then expecting them to drop 100 plus dollars on a rental tux.

If you wear a classic black tux, any groomsman worth a shite should have his own to wear.

Beyond a certain age (say, 27 or 28), I don't think it's out of line to expect that your groomsmen own a tux.
I was a groomsman to a close friend just a few years ago, and he told us that we could wear one that we owned or that we'd be renting his selection of tux. I figured that it was a good time to buy one, and I've already paid for it in usage by this point. It'll probably last at least another ten or twelve years.

My rented tuxes have all had interesting names:
Dior Black Sabre
El Diablo
Turbo 2000
Evan
Parker
The last two were most recent. One can see how the names went from badass to hipster millennial in marketing.
