My groomsman are wearing suits though cause I'm not an a-hole whose gonna make my boys shell out $250+ just for clothes at my wedding
I wish Some of said boys who are also getting married this summer would notice this and reciprocate.....
Missed an opportunity to go in on a decent black tux for everyone and have it pay for itself by the end of the summer.

Who gives a shite. All you need to know is when, where, and what time
Yep, light gray suit for this groom.

Under 35, wore neither as I got married at the beach. Khakis, light yellow shirt, and flip flops.

if you think you have any say in what you wear

I wore a standard black tux with a white bow tie since I was the groom. It's the same scheme my dad used in the late 80s when he married my mom and I wanted to capture that history in my wedding too.

I'll never understand asking someone to be a groomsman and then expecting them to drop 100 plus dollars on a rental tux.
And when they turn around and ask you to be a groomsman in their wedding and pay for your rental I bet you'll feel all tall and noble then, too. Idiot.

Only poor people don't wear a tux or tails at their wedding, and don't make their guests wear a tux if the wedding is after 7pm.

I wore a kilt and Prince Charlie Jacket.

depends on timing and location of wedding IMO
If my fiance wanted to be basic and get married on a beach, I'm not wearing a tux. Something light, like a linen or cotton suit.

I got married (no pics of wife) at age 26. I wore a tux.
Sometimes, being normal and traditional is the right way to go.

It's not your wedding. Anyone should wear whatever they want to their own wedding.

I want to wear searsucker suits

Beyond a certain age (say, 27 or 28), I don't think it's out of line to expect that your groomsmen own a tux.
Well look at what we have here. Who the F are you?
