Yep. I see people open carrying handguns all day in Walmarts. No one bats an eye.

Those people are idiots. I'm as pro-gun as they come. I also understand that their 2nd amendment rights haven't been trampled but, instead, Walmart's 1st amendment rights (which the 2nd amendment protects) have been freely exercised.

Have you actually been inside a Walmart?
Seriously, I stay away from areas that I feel I have a high likelihood of becoming a victim of a crime and/or violence. I carry everywhere else because it always happens when you're not expecting it.

I can think of multiple gun related crimes on Wal Mart property in the last few months at MS store locations. One was murder inside the Starkville location. Usually they just rob you in the parking lot.

Well that's overkill.
You shouldn't want anyone to know you have a guy on you. if someone is going to shoot up a place, they're going to shoot the guy they know has a gun first, it's just not logical to open carry for protection.

I know ppl that open carry. They have a pistol holstered in their side nearly everywhere they go including Walmart. No problem with that, but walking in a store with a rifle is just trying to stir shite IMO.

They had a right to carry. Store had a right to refuse. The guys acted civilly, and no incident whatsoever took place. Quirky but uneventful story here.

1. Sounds like they were open-carrying just to stroke their egos. I can understand open-carrying a handgun, maaaaybe even a machete, but an M4? That's just masturbating the old ego.

I'll open carry if Im say going to get gas late at night for 2 reasons. One depending on how you are concealing it, it may not give you time to react if some one gets the drop on you and 2 it may stop someone from attempting to rob you in the first place if they see you are armed.
