Been noticing an influx of younger guys getting in the tanning bed at my local gym... What's with this? Is male tanning acceptable now?

If metrosexual Europeans weren't so proud of their Lilly white skin and heritage, I'd imagine they'd overrun tanning beds.

I've done it before trips.

Jamaica or cancun. Knowing I could control the burn after a few treatments. Instead of the usual. Sit on beach, drink too much, stay on beach, after 2 days my back is "dog dick red". Then I have 5 days left to wear a t-shirt like a fat 12 year old boy.

Tanning gets you over that hump. You can of course still burn, but it's a lot harder to burn.

Honestly, I used to use a tanning bed a handful of times in the early spring to get a good base tan, just a little color, to not be as susceptible to burning. Seemed to work well. But I never got damn bronze or anything.

There is not one reason a man should ever step foot in a tanning bed. Not one.

Not my thing, but if a guy wants to get a tan going, what's the big deal?

I have a tanning bed in my basement. Tanning in the sun or in a bed is bad for you but at least you can control the dose in a bed. I wear sunscreen when I'm outside for any appreciable period of time.

Did it as a younger man. Want nothing to do with them now.
