There were tons of threads saying to arm every teacher in the immediate aftermath of this shooting. It then changed to some, only men, only veterans, etc etc. but it most certainly began as arm and train every teacher.

I think everyone can agree on that.
Everyone - regardless of where they fall on the political spectrum - is susceptible to falling into the knee-jerk trap.

Almost no one wants that. You're over reaching severely because a select few people on the internet mentioned arm every teacher.
What many people want is that teachers who go through extensive checks and training have the ability to carry in case the need arises. No one wants to force people to carry guns if they're not comfortable.

Surely you see the difference in asking someone to go inside after a gunman and someone already inside protecting themselves from the gunman.
If not you are a moron.
Teachers should have the right and ability to protect themselves if they want and go through the process to CC.

Honestly I think it's a terrible idea for 90% of teachers to carry. The 10% that can handle it should have the opportunity though.

The type of comments you're referring to on the OT and Political were reactionary, not thoughtful. In addition, I wonder if some of them came from non-gun supporters who were making silly comments to just stir the pot.
Personally, For a number of years I've been supportive of putting policies/procedures in place that would allow certain teachers/administrators/support personnel the opportunity to have a gun in the class room or carry concealed. I base this on discussions I've had w/ numerous teachers/administrators.

No. Not since Columbine. Current training is to immediately move forward until making contact with and neutralizing shooter. Of course, doing so is when you discover the 10% of the crew that are fighters and the 1% that are warriors. It all sounds good in a training environment but when it is really happening it is something entirely different.
