Straight out of 1970.

On Tuesday, Iranian state television screened images of President Hassan Rouhani sitting in what was reported as a new "Kowsar" fighter aircraft.
Local media also reported that the plane was a fourth-generation fighter jet that had been designed and manufactured solely by Iranian military experts.
However, international aviation experts have been quick to cast doubt on the claim of pure Iranian technology and have suggested that the design is that of the U.S.-made F-5F jet, first built in the early 1970s. Tehran purchased F-5s from America in 1974, five years before the Iranian revolution.

T-38 trainer = F5 fighter.
70's technology, can barely do Mach 1.2

Before opening I was thinking they glued cardboard in stealth angles on an F-4.
Repainted and F-5.
Pretty close.

Bull shite. The F-14 - 15- 16- and 18 are 4th generation.
The F-5 is 3rd (probably 2nd) generation

That’s an F-5. Or a T-38 if it is a 2 seater. F for Fighter and T for training, depending on what it was used for.
We used them at Barksdale to train new/transitioning A-10 pilots.
Also, those were used as “MiGs” in Top Gun.
Awesome aircraft. Basically a flying engine with little stubby wings.
It wasn’t quite a Delta wing. It’s wing design is also similar to the F/A 18.
