Eh. Isn't a better position for your child to have a viable post-graduation plan? Nothing wrong with a liberal arts degree per se.

That’s fine, but I’m not paying for it. Join the military, scholarships, whatever, but frick your liberal arts degree. STEM.

LOL. OK. I know people with liberal arts degrees in the private equity industry making more money than a lot of your EE majors will ever see, but you do you.

I would rather my daughters get a golf scholarship than a Ram 2500 and a smoking habit.

So glad I won’t have to pay for my kids college. Surely one or two will find good jobs and be able to help out.

I'm helping mine but only costing like 5k a year due to him getting a partial scholly and not going to an overrated and expensive school.

Recently paid for both of my children's college education (two undergraduate and one graduate). Did not take a single cent in loans. Not a penny.

Both are completely debt free.

Its a stepping stone to a grad degree.

But damn, is it easy compared to most majors.

i have the opposite philosophy. i would encourage my hypothetical kid to get a good liberal arts degree then go to business school, law school, or continue in academics (can be a pretty great lifestyle tbh). do internships in different fields while in undergrad, if possible.

The hell with those kids.... partially those kids fault for allowing their dad to do that! Get a damn job and finance school yourself and don't put that burden on your parents... especially when there are 5 kids

sounds like a dirtbag of a parent.
If you tell your kids that you're going to pay for their school, then you can't go back once they have money & ask them to help you pay for it now.

I would be upfront from the get go on expectations, but truthfully I wouldn't be the guy putting myself into this debt regardless....but hey, thanks for calling me a dirtbag, you worthless sack of shite.

should have saved up for them beforehand, and even then, they should have some skin in the game.
