Cause what I love is equal access and not being served first.

I don’t think so.

How would you determine what type and how much of services people get?

How do you manage the immense demand for services when the price tag is zero at point of delivery?

go look at the National Health Service in Great Britain...they do stuff like emergency care very well, but otherwise care is rationed...if you're a smoker, you're in deep do-do, same if you're overweight...

unless you have enough money to afford private insurance...

It gets paid, one way or another. Simplified.

On the backs of people that actually pay taxes. Look how well the government runs the VA, the federal budget, social security, etc, etc. Anything those slimy fricks get their hands on turns to shite. But sure, let's give them more money and power. Maybe they'll do better this time.

Have you ever met a 35 year old patient on Medicare? They suck up all the resources in health care. Good luck trying to pay peanuts to Doctors under Medicare for all. Who will pay back their $300k in debt with a $50,000/year salary?

If the government had to decide my course of care I'd be dead, at least twice. I read a lot of cancer forums specific to the type I had. There are hundreds of posts from people in Canada the UK and Australia begging other users to please point them in the right direction for their treatment. They have little access to their surgeons and oncologists and some of the most basic information is difficult to come by. We have 320 million people in this country. I can't imagine the backlog of bullshite if we had to deal with a national healthcare system. That being said if we ever do go that way I need to go into the casket business.

I say we take away all gov insurance. Work and pay for your own shite. Nationalized healthcare encourages lazy people.

There's a reason people come to America for healthcare... we innovate and care for sickness better than anybody else... why??... In America there is incentive to be a doctor

Your idea destroys that

Don't get sick on the weekend is a common saying in Canada and Great Britain, why??... cuz their "free clinics" are usually closed on weekends because there is no incentive to be a doctor due to nationalized healthcare

What good has government intervention ever done for America (barring National Parks)??

Great. You just put our healthcare under the supervision of DMV workers. What could go wrong.

There’s a reason why rich people from countries that have socialized healthcare travel to the US for treatment. With socialized healthcare, the government can just decide they dont wanna pay for you cancer treatment because your survival odds arent high enough. So people with the financial means come here to get care they got denied for in their own countries. You want thay type of system here too?

Not true. Medicare works in America for those over 65.

Simplify it by also giving it to those under 65, when care is less necessary.

It works because those doctors and hospitals operate in a free market. That goes away with your genius communism healcare plan.

How can you be so shortsighted?

Entitlements will bankrupt this country... i'm in my early 30s and know I'll probably never see Social Security

At the going rate, our debt is around 20 cents per dollar... if that keeps up, our debt (today) will cost our children 40 cents per dollar

Entitlements need a severe cutback, the problem is nobody is willing to die on that cross

Lazy and irresponsible people will ruin this country... we were founded on the idea of self determination... it's past time people own up to their own actions

I'm done here.

That's because it's a Ponzi scheme. Some people may like it but that's exactly what it is.

Healthcare is absolutely fricked.

Major reform is needed.

Single payer is not the answer.

My opinion-

HSA’s with high deductible insurance plans.

Make “in-network” vs out network illegal.

If you choose a licensed practice it should be covered.

Very encouraged by by the responses in this thread.

To get to Single Payer:
- Hospitals and Drs will have to take way less (about half) what they get now. Good luck with that.
- People who do pay taxes will have to pay way more
- Think about the people at the DMV, the Social Security Office, the post office--basically most any government interaction you've had. You want that in the ER?

Okay. And we can pay for it by taxing every liberal/Democrat -- after all, they are the ones who keep pushing for this complete f*cking disaster -- and we'll see how "dedicated to this bullshite they really are.
