Not even remotely true
The temporary Covid-era “juiced” subsidies expired, which is what Biden signed into law in 2021. The Covid era subsidies were never meant to be permanent
We are now back to the pre Covid subsidy structure
Phew, I feel so much better now.

Because it was amazing before ACA.
For most of us it was fine.
The ACA was created to destroy the market and usher in single payer which will be a shite show because our nation has too many irresponsible people.
Just bring back charity hospitals.

My Blue Cross Blue Shield plan with three similar age kids went up about $13 a month.

Obamacare or the Affordable Care Act as it was called. This is a feature of the bill, not a glitch.

I’m a 25 year old, white American liberal male stay at home son. Under my dad’s insurance and prior to Trump, it was incredibly cheap. Next year I fall off my dad’s and have to work. Because of Trump I see I’m going to be paying astronomical prices in insurance. How can I even live? Gas has become so much more expensive also. Thanks Trumptards

Democrats pass Obamacare and bankrupt private insurance and then blame Republicans for increased costs.

Same my work plan doubled too.
Most people’s Buying power going down bc wages not keeping up with the steady rise in costs for food, medical, cars, etc.

The democrats signed into law in 2021 a bill that provided temporary “juiced” subsidies that would expire after the pandemic ended. The democrats chose 2025 as the expiration year.
How is this the fault of the republicans?
ACA subsidies are going back to what they were in 2019. Are you saying that the 2019 subsidies weren’t generous enough?

Because they would never support a permanent version of these subsidies.

Elections always have positive and negative consequences

They were never designed to be permanent.
The entire point of the juiced subsidies was because unemployment was high during the pandemic and people were struggling to earn income.
We are now at full employment and real wages are at an all time high.
Are you claiming that the subsidy structure signed into law in 2010 by Obama was not generous enough?

Look on the bright side: less Mexicans around. I am sure that’ll help you
Good, maybe next time I’m doubled over from pain in the ER I won’t have to sit there waiting for 3 hours watching Mexicans go back for treatment on what looks to be coughs and fever, all the time knowing it’s free for them. They use the ER as primary healthcare because it’s fricking free, thus causing a bottleneck for the people in serious pain.

employer? I purchased this individual policy for him myself 9 years ago. I’m self employed.
Then you should already know that you’ve been propping up the dregs of society through your forced pools and through subsidies which now you won’t indirectly benefit from. Obamacare .. the gift that keeps on taking more and more.

Do you seriously think it’s 21 year old kids abusing healthcare?
They are the least costly age group for health problems. Just the most costly for auto damage.

This is why the Dems didn’t agree to keep the government open back in October/November. The subsidies, which were keeping premiums down, were set to expire 1/1/26 thanks to the Big Beautiful Bill.
The Dems, knowing what was going to happen to premiums, didn’t play ball to fund the government until being promised an extension of the subsidies would be brought to a vote.
The GOP never relented, and here we are.
Trump, being made aware of the issue after the fact and already facing criticism over affordability, has commented that the subsidies should be continued. There’s been no action on that front yet. I imagine something will be done because a lot of people are starting to realize how bad their pocketbooks will be hurt by that provision in the BBB.

Subsidies going away from Exchange plans has been in the news for months baw. Trump is working to make American great though.
Why should I subsisize your health insurance premium when I'm paying out the nose for my own with no taxpayer assistance?
Posted on 1/2/26 at 3:41 pm to Randman
That is what he should have been paying. He wasn't because of subsides put on during the Covid scam. That government program has expired per the schedule from the Biden administration so the normal cost are back on.
