People born in the 80s don't have much in common mentally with people born in the 90s. The world changed too much to lump them together.

his is because your average millennial grew up with a monetary safety net and went to college for a liberal arts degree and now complains about the economy even though they have zero marketable skills.
And baby boomers got higher paying jobs with a high school diploma. What's your point?

As a hiring manager, I can tell you that you have absolutely no idea what you are referring to.
The largest number of bachelor degrees that were given in the 2013-14 calendar year were BUSINESS related degrees. The next largest were HEALTHCARE and related professions. Only 9% were awarded to the COMBINED group of social sciences and history.
Trust me. In the technology sector, Millennials are worth WAY more than the previous generations. They are much more adaptable. That comes from actual observation, not what some moron on a blog or talking head on a radio told me to think.

I have an associates. I got let go a while ago. Literally 1 week and I was working again with a 20% bump in pay.
If you have an Associates and he has two advanced degrees, I will wager that even if you two are in the same field, your jobs are not even close to each other in scope.

someone who got their college degree in 2014 isnt/shouldnt be lumped in with people whowho got degreees in the early 2000s
2003-2004 saw the same trend. Largest group of degrees awarded were business degrees.

Those statistics are from the US Dept of Education. It's a nation-wide trend.

Also, this map is stupid. In order to be taken seriously it should only look at people >25 years old.

I was born in 84 and don't associate with these SJW weak minded snow flakes. Too busy working trying to provide for my family.

My first cell phone was at 16 when I could drive. Pop said I didn't need one until I was driving in case of an emergency.
The age gap used for this metric is too wide ranging. You're basically comparing 20 year olds with 30 year olds in median income. Makes no sense.

Or he feels lower middle class because he's good with money.
We made that coming out of school, and while we were able to enjoy a lot of things, take nice vacations, etc, I would stay say it felt like lower middle class

That cant be true huh...? I made more than that with my starting salary 27 years ago...

Same here. My brother was born in 91, and we're completely different in how we view the world. There needs to be a split in the millennial classification. I can see it with his peers and mine. We aren't the same.
