Is this really that bad? Most people start at the bottom, not the top. Geez at the entitlement.

Some of those numbers are below the poverty level.

You're literally saying that people living in poverty are entitled.

1980-2000 is the cutoff for millennials I believe.

So ~17-37 year olds.

Exactly. Hell. I got a general studies and I'm making a decent living in the supplier side. Mellenial is such a relative term. I'm only 26 and I still remember calling on the rotary phone to memaw and the gang.

Holy fricking shite. And Boomers and Gen X wonder why we bitch.

How is it fricking possible that the average Millennial in California makes less than the Millennial in Louisiana with the cost of living out there? Also how does Alaska have the highest?

This is because your average millennial grew up with a monetary safety net and went to college for a liberal arts degree and now complains about the economy even though they have zero marketable skills.

No. That's probably less than 5% of millennials. It doesn't explain that low of numbers.

The map was based on people born from 1981 to 1997.

Every single number shown is well in excess of the poverty level. Some of them are double.

I wish.. Got a MS degree and am working for a beer distributor. I've sat in multiple interviews and phone interview with HR saying I lack experience for a job that pays 22k. I'm doing what I have to do, but it still sucks either way.

my 24 year old handyman made over 100k last year

my trim carpenter I use on manority of projects will probably make north of 250k

my nephew got his welding certification and started off at 40k (20)

there are over 1000 IT jobs needed to be filled in middle TN, which can be certified at a technical school.

We need plumbers in TN so bad its almost a crisis

Millennials don't want to learn trades. If you enter a field where the job market is saturated then prepare to be poor for awhile.

I also love the "needs X years of experience" for what used to be an entry-level position just out of college

I assume the map has its issues with people still in college and some not working, etc. That being said, I don't feel sorry for any of them. You won't be paid much during your first few years of work. Hell, sometimes you won't be paid well until much later in life.

You obviously don't understand the concept of gross income vs. net income.

I wonder how much of that is dragged down by the thousands that move to LA to try to do Hollywood while working at a coffee shop.
