Isn't that the guy that came into the GP mill to turn it around, then immediately alienated everyone and ran off the employees who had the ability to get the frick out while simultaneously running the mill into the ground, then retired the morning before massive layoffs and shutdown of many operating units were announced?

That guy?

Good thing he meets the number one qualification, I guess.

Dude is an absolute JOKE of a leader and simply did what the suits in the ATL(GP HQ) and Wichita(KOCH HQ) told him to. His biggest quality was lack of empathy and complete arrogance/indifference to employee loyalty.

You whipped your penis out at work and he fired you?

Broome's hiring criteria list has only one item on it.

You should, he's worthless and I know from working at GP. I also know he got the job because him and Broome are good pals.
Good ole La. politics.

Revelator, sorry to hear about your job loss at GP. Have companies been actively looking to hire GP employees? Are people trying to stay in the area or open to other areas as well?

By 2016 turned to hiring ex-military guys with supervisory experience but ZERO manufacturing experience to come in and 'run crews like a platoon'(their words).

I bet that was a shite show

I appreciate the concern, but in the interest of full disclosure, if the current union proposal is accepted, I will not be laid off because of the department I work in and my department seniority.
And yes, there are companies reaching out to laid off employees and there is an upcoming job fair.

100% true. And the federal government was also paying G.P. a subsidy to hire these ex milatry managers.

No wonder he struck a cord with SWB. That and he's the right shade to be on her staff

The person I was referring to was ultimately over the pulpmill and woodyard. (Both of which are getting shutdown)

Wonder if he's still around?

Kip the GMOAT split up DPW into these smaller departments all with their own independent heads. For...? Reasons. There was probably a study that recommended it.

quote:

Department of Buildings and Grounds -Department of Development
-Department of Environmental Services
-Department of Fleet Management
-Department of Maintenance
-Department of Transportation and Drainage

Now Broomes is putting them back all under 1 guy.

After reading about this guy’s history I’m sure he will get along just fine with the guys currently running those departments.

What a shite show.

Broome...2020 or St. George, whichever comes first. But I applaud her for making SG a more and more realistic possibility.

I do not know a thing Bout this dude but mikel pretty much has me sold. Remember, she also hired Silky Slime and Gravy.

She is biting the shite out of the hand that feeds but she sure as shite wishes she could squash the ExxonMobil fiasco.
