probably, but they’ll face a lot of future lawsuits if so.

For football to happen the restrictions have to end no later than just prior to summer. If the athletes can't gather for summer conditioning then they won't be in safe playing shape for a grueling fall camp to prepare for the season.

New Orleans is showing a drop in cases faster than the rest of the state.

I think you’ll see law enforcement step up their active enforcement.
How much law enforcement do you think Louisiana has for its over 4.5 million residents?

A lot per capita probably. Can’t enforce those speed traps with no officer present.

Not as long as the government is giving them $850 a week in unemployment to stay home

That sounds pretty shitty. The LE that I know just want the fricking Karen’s to stop being tattletales about their neighbors/competing businesses.

We won't go beyond May 1 with where we are now, we will see things open back up, but there will be rules in place to keep social distancing a thing.

Restaurants will only be allowed 50% capacity, etc.

Given them? How dare people take advantage of a government program they've been paying for through payroll taxes at every job they've ever had.

Sadly, I could see this happening. I hope not, but given the "out of an abundance of caution" theme that has defined this pandemic response, I am afraid this may happen.

Put it this way, with the state unemployment benefit plus the extra $600 being thrown in by the feds, a lot of people are going to be getting paid as much or more to stay at home than they would normally make by going to work. How many of those people you think are going to be mad if come May 1, the government says everybody needs to stay home and businesses remain closed for another month?
