Here is the only thing I have to contribute to your question...
Mattress stores sells person recently told me all mattresses are designed / expected to last about 8 years.. the only thing you are paying for are the "features" that come with the mattress..

I spent 1,500 on a Dr. Greene one last year and I do like it but wish I would have spent more and got the nicer Temper Pedic. Think about it, you spend 1/3 of your entire life in your bed. Invest in that so that the other 2/3 of your life is better. Better sleep = better day ahead of you... at least for me it is.

Retail mattress shopping is overwhelming on purpose. You will not find the exact model of Sealy mattress at different mattress stores, because they don't want you to shop like that.
Online. I went with Zinus based on a recommendation, and love it.

When we shopped 12 years ago, we noticed, at least for some of the brands, the model name would begin with the same letter for all the different stores. They’d name it a different word for every store so they could claim theirs was different than another store and, of course, you can’t price match if it’s not the exact same model name.

I’ve had lower back issue for a couple decades. I bought a Purple mattress about 4 years ago and it’s the best I’ve ever owned.

Sleep EZ USA latex mattress. I have one of their high end ones and a Roma. The value of the Roma is good enough that I probably wouldn’t spend the money on the more expensive one again.
