Funny thing is, I look at Denzel, and I don't even see skin color. His skill transcends that. He's not my favorite black actor...he's just my favorite current actor, PERIOD.
He's like Hanks or, going back a ways, Jimmy Stewart. He has an Everyman quality...can play almost any role. That's a rare gift.

Point is that the top black actors of today are extremely well represented in career box office grossings. Overrepresented in statistical terms.

It's just a numbers game. Whites are 65% of the populace. Blacks are 13%. Why would you have a business model that caters to 13% of your potential audience?
