Yeah that's weird.
Also may have looked bad for the spouses of two employees to be chatting it up all friendly and familiar. Not saying it's right for it to look bad, but you know how gossips can be.

I've found that generally hot chicks with complete douche bag boyfriends usually have serious underlying issues. Self esteem issues for one. I'm picturing a cross fit guy.

Once again, I agree with your general view on life. That type of behavior is sad and unacceptable. I agree that he is probably overcompensating for a failure (possible infidelity) on his part. Most men don't know how to be men anymore, and the ones who feel the need to classify every action as either alpha or beta are totally overlooking what it means to be a man.

This. My wife and I can joke like that though. She knows I’m an old dog that likes the porch. But I will talk to people. Similar happened to me years ago.
This was a coworker who the wife (them gf) and I both knew. I walk up and talk to her. I mercilessly flirted with her in my single days. I hadn’t seen her in a year so I say hello. Hug her, she hugs my GF? Her douche soon to be husband comes up. Same thing. Says nothing and I know the guy. We all worked in the same facility once? He just scowls. So I smile and shake his hand say his name and ask him how he’s doing. Not that hard really.
