Bollards

There are also bollards behind the two cruisers. No they do not cover building to building.

There was never any plans to put bollards on the sidewalks.

Thank you for making my point.

Because there's never been a mass casualty event in Las Vegas?

Have you seen the video? There was a police car blocking bourbon. Dude jumped onto the sidewalk. Armchair quarterbacking says yes, sidewalks should have been blocked, but I don’t consider that a failure.

In a free society if someone is willing to exchange their life to commit some heinous shite they are very likely going to succeed.

Are you going to police every roadway in America with large pedestrian groups around them?

I get that, but this one is/was easily preventable.

Go a block down and you can drive a car through the front of building and get on Bourbon.

Hindsight of this one event isn't going to prevent the next.

So then he just plows down along the side of Canal. How’s it any different?

Very true, but a porous border and a city that welcomes mass gatherings with inadequate precautions makes the likelihood of success even greater.

Couple that with a woke FBI and media and you all but invite these events.

Logistically speaking, how do major pedestrian-only areas get supplies in and out? Legitimately don’t know. Can only imagine the process of having to keep heavy-traffic tourist venues—like you’d find on a Bourbon Street—stocked up at all times.

The terrorist clearly wanted the notoriety of a world famous street like Bourbon. We made it easy.

The attacker was not an illegal. He was Texas born.

No one views Canal as a pedestrian street during special events. Bourbon is completely different.

Agree that Canal sidewalks are unprotectable. So there’s not much to do about someone driving them and causing casualties.

Meauxjeaux would just harp that those sidewalks didn't high enough kerbs.

Worst kind of people. Saying "it's so easy" the day after

What else could’ve been done?

Bollards should extend to the sidewalk area as well.

What a shitty excuse.

He was in a truck on a busy road with lots of pedestrians at the foot of bourbon/canal. Literally any poster on this board could drive downtown wherever they live and plow through a bunch of pedestrians if they were evil enough.

He was a US citizen so not sure what any of the other stuff that you posted has to do with this horrific event.
