This is from the LVMPD Twitter page, just so that everyone can refresh their memories on the timeline. Remember, he stopped shooting after 10 minutes (@ 10:15) which is why officers took their time assessing the situation before breaching the room. They've said that in multiple press conferences.

Man that has to be gut wrenching, i cannot begin to imagine the terror that these people went through when they were just trying to enjoy themselves. You absolutely cannot do anything these days without keeping your head on a swivel

Zanis, a 66-year-old retired carpenter, made his first cross 20 years ago when his father-in-law was killed.
"That just changed my life," Zanis said. "My first cross was for somebody that I loved. And when I put up these crosses here, I always think of my personal loss here too. Always."
Zanis has become well-known for erecting more than 20,000 of the markers over the past two decades, including after the Columbine and Sandy Hook school shootings and the massacre at an Orlando nightclub.
The crosses, which Zanis said took him two days to cut and paint, feature a red heart.

Pretty sure it took SWAT almost an hour to get to the room.
An hour to get IN the room. They had eyes on the doors within 10-15 minutes
See timeline above, SWAT was an hour getting to the room.

Ak's dont shoot 5.56 they shoot 7.62 rounds which is pretty much a .308
Ak's shoot 7.62 x 39.
.308 is comparable to a 7.62 x 51. (Longer casing)
They do make 5.56 AK variants as well as an AK 74 that shoots 5.45 x 39.
But in general, no, a standard AK round is not pretty much a .308. A comparable caliber to the AK round would be a 30-30.

OK, not SWAT, but the 8 regular officers were on the 32nd floor with eyes on the doors. He could not have escaped once they found his location (room).
Killing the Security Guard an leaving right then and there was his only chance, and even that wasn't a good one.

Clark County Coroner has released an official list of the deceased.

Do you think that round would breach a car and set off 50+ pounds of tennerite. You seem to know what you are talking about

No worries, but I love the fact that you dont let TD interfere with your personal life, just stupid work.

Hell, according to that timeline, the Security guard called in the exact location of the shooter within 13 minutes of when it started. And confirmed he was still there. At that point, I guarantee you that they shut down every single exit from that floor, and had officers guarding every single possible exit. Throughout the entire floor, then again outside of the entire hotel.
There is no chance in hell he escapes at that point. It's over.

Yea man life these days people spend more time on social media than enjoying their families. When i get home i try my best to put my phone down (which is not all the time)and play with my little girl and relax with my wife because like this you never know when it is your time and i dont want to die knowing i spent the night before on my phone instead of showing my wife and kid attention

Possible? Yes.
I just can't picture how it was set up. Was it in the backseat and he was hoping to go through a window and hit it, or was it in the trunk and he was hoping to pierce the metal then hit the tannerite?
Neither scenario makes much sense though at 400+ yards.

Congrats on the big 4 (Seriously though, I'm assuming this is the girl from EY, the firm is really doing a great thing helping her and her family out through this)
Yep - Tina Frost is her name. I’ve been with EY in the audit practice for 3+ years now and am based in Texas. Tina was out of the San Diego office in the tax practice and was at the concert with other EY employees. The head of North America and South America for EY shared her gofundme page and it’s up above $425K. I’m sure the firm will pick up most the the families miscellaneous expenses in the immediate future as well.
Firm has been lucky so far this summer as none of its employees lost their life in Harvey, Irma, or the earthquake in Mexico.
